Dear Mom, Dad and all:
I recieved your V-mail letter and the package
on Feb. 15th. Thanks much for both. This has been the only
letter received since Jan. 2nd from home. Evelyn spent the weekend
here, staying at the same hotel George did and having her meals with me.
Your rather obvious fears, judging from the package contents were a bit
unfounded as Evelyn had told me she would like to become a Catholic and
her dad had inquired, unknown to me, of a Catholic man he works with for
suggestions of books on the subject so when she came up I gave her most
of the books you sent to take back with her. When I go to see her
the first week of March we will call on the parish priest nearest her and
arrange for instructions. So you can forget any worries you may have
had on that subject. Evelyn is a fine girl in every way and when
you meet her I know you will all agree and welcome her warmly into the
family. We had a fine week-end the weather being favorable, and spent
most of it walking and hill climbing. Saturday night we saw "In Which
We Serve", an excellently done film written, directed, acted and the music
written by Noel Coward. I phoned George Wednesday night and he said
he wished he could have come too. He will be with me at Evelyn's
the sixth of March. Evelyn has written Art and Mom air mail and sent
her picture in Mom's letter. I hope you get it okay.
Bye for now.
Love, Bob.
