Dear Mom. Dad and All:-
Talked to George on the phone Wednesday night
and he seemed to think our letters haven't been getting through lately.
I've only written V-mail so hope you've received mine. I received
a congratulation card from Florence today. Am still hale and hearty.
Went to another party at Major Legarde's home last Saturday night and had
a fine time. Will go to the Baldwin's (the ex-Prime-Ministers) for
tea Sat. and to Evelyn's the week after, I hope. She's well, except
for a cold, and anxiously awaiting your letter. Her dad is writing
to you, too. My friend, Lt. Leas, announced his engagement to an
English girl Saturday. It seems to be catching. We plan on
June 5th as the big day, if approved by the Commanding General. Don't
send any wedding presents over here, save them until after the war.
Import duty is from 30 to 50 per cent on everything. Had a letter
from Rung & Basil last week. Did you hear Churchill's speech?
Use V-mail when writing, or regular mail. There is no Airmail except
V-mail now, so it's a waste of money to use air-mail stamps. Your
V-mail of Feb. 23rd is the last letter I've received to date. Cheerio
for now. Love to all.
Bob
