Dear Mom, Dad and All:
Have received all the packages you mailed in
September except the Sam Browne belt. Received Dad's letter of Nov.
8th on the 20th and Mom's of Oct. 15 on Nov. 27th. Can't account
for the difference in time. The pajamas fit fine and I sure enjoyed
the chocolate. I hope my letters are finally reaching you.
I have sent about six and am mailing one at the same time as this.
I'll use V-mail from now on although you can't write much. Am sending
you a book on the war taken from the articles in the 'Daily Telegraph'.
It will give you a start on what really went on over here in 1940 and 1941.
Will spend Christmas with Evelyn and the Humphrey's if I can get leave
then. Had a fine week-end with them the 13th. Saw George Huff
and his wife there. Guess we've got Hitler on the run now.
The boys are sure going to town. I'll get my meals from my landlady
where I live from now on which will be better than the canteen, being home
cooked. Am still well and happy in my work and hope I can stay here
for the duration. Give my regards to all the relatives. Sending
my pictures next week. Write V-mail!!!
Love, Bob.
