Dear Mom, Dad & All

Rosemary's letter April 17, Mom's and Gerry's April 19th received today, April 30th.  Also letter from Dick Hamilton mailed March 31st.  Thanks to all.  Will tell George Huff to expect package.  Send the item for me direct to me, registered mail.  You are allowed to send packages to us now - up to 8 ounces.  Had a letter from George today.  He's expecting to move Saturday to his new job and it sounds like a good one.  It should be a good opportunity for him and will probably mean a promotion.  It certainly should be interesting.  Did I tell you about the taxes over here?  You've little to complain of these when you compare them.  The customs duties on imports were raised too, 100% of valuation on most things and all luxuries, so better save any gifts for Evelyn 'til we get home.  It's a good thing gifts to men in the forces are exempt.  Most of my army pals have been moved away from here now.  I'll sure miss some of them.  One of them, Capt. Leas got married a couple weeks ago.  We're going to have a reunion some day, all the fellows who got married over here.  Will try to answer some of my other mail now.  Cheerio!

Love, Bob.
