Dear Myron:

Just a few lines of news from the old homestead on Wakefield Ave.  We are all fine and enjoying a rather mild sort or weather for this time of year.  Of course, tomorrow we may be up to our ears in snow.
Evelyn returned two weeks ago from a sojourn with Bob.  She had been with him for about two months and then Bob knew he was headed over-seas again so he got a few days leave and brought Evelyn & the baby home.  I suggested Evelyn go back with Bob and stay with him till he was ready to leave and I would keep the baby here.  I think the two really planned to do this so they were quick to accept my suggestion.  I got on favorably with Raymond Leslie and I know Bob & Ev enjoyed a couple of weeks to be going places unhampered, altho' Ev said sometimes in the evening Bob would say, "Wouldn't it be fine to have the baby here to play with now?"  The baby weighed 21-1/2 lbs about two weeks ago, the day before he was 6 months old.  He is the best natured baby I ever saw.  Sleeps all night, wakes up all ready to play and eats everything he is fed.  He tries to suck his fingers, waves bye-bye and when we tell him to go to sleep he puts the head down for a few seconds and then looks up with a big smile.  I can tell you we all enjoy him a great deal.  His arms and legs are so fat and solid as a rock.  He plays with numerous toys he has and amuses himself for long periods, sitting in his buggy or lying on his tummy kicking and talking away to himself.  He knows his name and turns to see who has called him.  All in all he's a swell baby.  Had a letter from George yesterday.  He is in the same place but would like to get to France if possible.  I think Knoll is going to be the hero of the poker club after all those missions he has flown over Germany.  Met Marion and you would be surprised to see now white her hair has become.  Her mother moved to Wausau & she lives with her aunt so she has had to do many household jobs she never did before.  She doesn't seem to like it either.  I am looking forward to having the first poker session here when you boys all get back.  I pray for you all every time I go to Church and also when I say my evening prayers.  Bob will go via the other ocean this time so he will be farther away than ever.  Didn't relish the long boat trip a bit.  As yet we have no APO except the one at Frisco.  Regards from all of us and may victory come soon & hasten the return of you and the rest of the boys.

Sincerely,  Mrs. M.
